Improvisation Camp (6th - 8th and 9th - 12th grades)
This camp exposes students to different forms of improvisation, with a focus on short form. Improv is a wonderful tool for the dramatic actor, as well as a great form of theatre for those interested in comedy. Students also receive a specialized lesson in long form improvisation. They learn to build characters and create relationships and conflict, all from the organic eye of the actor. The skills learned in this camp are showcased in a full-length (90 minute) show for friends and family. This camp is a lot of fun and gives students valuable tools to perform both on stage and off. One day of camp, a special guest speaker introduces campers to the world of stand-up comedy, including pointers and how to get started.
