The Evergreen Chorale presents Amahl & the Night Visitors and Not Even a Mouse

The crippled boy Amahl likes to tell tall tales, but when the Three Wise Men on their way to find the Christ child appear in front of his house, neither he nor his poor mother can believe their eyes.   Should she dare to steal some of the kings’ gold to save her son from becoming a beggar?  This humorous and touching Christmas story is scored to some of the most beautiful music composed by Menotti.  Commissioned by NBC, Amahl was the first ever American television special broadcast every Christmas and has remained a seasonal favorite for young and old.  It’s all there: Shepherds, kings, dancers, a mother’s love and the vision of a child to inspire us all!
