For more than 30 years, Evergreen Children’s Chorale has been inspiring and engaging young performers in our mountain community. ECC provides students in grades 2–8 with high-quality performing arts experiences that foster confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of music and theater. Through dynamic rehearsals, full-scale productions, and community performances, ECC helps children discover their voices, build lasting friendships, and shine both on and off the stage.
Position Summary
The Stage Director is responsible for staging/choreography for the Spring musical. Working closely with the Music Directors and Business Manager, the Stage Director helps create dynamic performances that showcase students’ skills while fostering confidence, discipline, and teamwork. This role balances creative leadership with hands-on direction, ensuring ECC productions maintain the highest artistic and educational standards.

Qualifications
- Experience directing/staging musical theater and/or choral performances required
- Strong background in choreography and stage direction
- Prior experience working with children (grades 5–8 preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively with artistic staff, parents, and volunteers
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Comfort balancing artistic vision with educational goals
- Availability for rehearsals (Mondays/Wednesdays, 4:00–6:30 PM), performances, and seasonal meetings
Time Commitment
Rehearsals: Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30–6:30 PM (Evergreen Lutheran Church)
Spring show, production meetings, auditions, and committee meetings as scheduled
Additional hours as required during production weeks
Compensation
100 - 120 hours; $2,000 - $3,500 Depending on Experience
This is an independent contractor position. Compensation is determined annually by the ECC Board of Directors. Hours vary depending on the time of year.
